The BEST Crispy Tofu
This is The BEST Crispy Tofu made with 3 Simple Ingredients and if you HATE tofu like me then this recipe is for you. This Crispy Tofu has been seasoned and fried to perfection. It’s crispy on the outside and meaty on the inside. If you’re a big meat eater (like my family haha) I promise you will LOVE this recipe just as much as they do.

Cornflour Is essential
Cornflour is the best ingredient to fry the tofu in because of how crispy the tofu turns out.
Do I need to press this tofu?
If this is your first time making tofu you’re probably wondering “what the heck is pressing tofu?” I was confused myself but don’t worry. Pressing tofu is just using a few sheets of paper towel or cloth between the tofu and pressing firmly to remove any excess water.
To answer the question it’s a no. I used extra firm tofu, and I did not need to drain any excess.
Ingredients Needed
All you need to make The Best Crispy Tofu is 3 simple but affordable ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need:
- 225g Smoked Tofu
- 1.5tbsp Cornflour
- Seasoning ( 1tsp cayenne pepper, 1tsp garlic powder and 1tsp jumbo/adobo seasoning)
What to serve with The Best Crispy Tofu?
This tofu is perfect to eat straight out of the pan (the best way to eat it haha) but here are a few ways to serve this tofu:
- In a veggie stuffed tortilla wrap smothered in bbq sauce (one of my favourite ways to eat this)
- Add the tofu to a spicy vegetable stir-fry
The BEST Crispy Tofu
Ingredients
- 225 g Smoked Tofu (£2.50)
- tsp Jumbo seasoning/Adobo seasoning (£0.07)
- 1.5 tbsp Cornflower (£0.10)
- 1 tsp Cayenne pepper (£0.03)
- tsp Garlic powder
- Sunflower/Vegetable oil for frying
- Salt optional
- Pepper optional
- Spring onion optional
Instructions
- Chop the tofu into bitesize pieces or into even cubes.
- In a bowl, season the tofu in cornflour and the seasonings.
- In a medium-heated pan fry the tofu for 2-4 minutes or until golden and crispy.
- Drain the oil and season with salt and peppe.
- Sprinkle fresh spring onion and enjoy ; )
