Ingredients Needed
To make this Spicy Tomato Pasta (5 ingredients) you need 5 main ingredients. The rest are optional but delicious!
- 300g-400g cherry tomatoes (£1.00)
- 250g of dried pasta (£0.14)
- 2 small onions (£0.12 x 2)=(£0.24)
- 3-4 garlic cloves (£0.42)
- 1-2 tsp dried and chopped birds eye chilli (or crushed chilli)
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- handful of fresh coriander (optional)
- grated parmesan cheese (optional)

Add-ins
You may want to add in a protein (or veggies) like chicken or smoked tofu for a vegan alternative. Here are a few other delicious add-ins:

Spicy Tomato Pasta

Ingredients
- 300-400 g cherry tomatoes (£1.00)
- 250 g dried pasta (£0.14)
- 2 small onions (£0.12 x 2)=(£0.24)
- 3-4 garlic cloves (£0.42)
- 1-2 tsp dried and chopped birds eye chilli (or crushed chilli) or crushed chilli
- 1 tsp paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- handful of fresh coriander optional
- grated parmesan cheese optional
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in salted boiling water until al dente then drain, reserving about 1 cup of the cooking water.
- Heat your olive oil in a medium to large pan over medium-high heat. Fry the garlic and onion until translucent.
- Add the cherry tomatoes and season with chilli, paprika, salt and pepper. Continue to stir until the tomatoes begin to burst.
- Once the onions are brown, pour in 1/4 cup of the cooked pasta water into the tomatoes and stir for 2-3 minutes. At this stage use a wooden spoon or fork and smash the tomatoes to create more sauce. Continue to stir until the sauce becomes a bit thicker.
- Add the pasta to the sauce and stir until the pasta is fully coated in the sauce. Add more salt and pepper til desired.
