  • 4-pack brioche buns (a day old/stale) (£1.00)
  • 1 pint milk (£0.90)
  • 135 ml double cream (£0.65)
  • 3 eggs (£0.75)
  • 3-4 tbsp sugar (£0.05)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (£0.06)
  • 50 g milk chocolate chips (£0.45)
  • a tsp of vanilla extract
  • pinch of cinnamon

Ingredients

  • 4-pack brioche buns (a day old/stale) (£1.00)
  • 1 pint milk (£0.90)
  • 135 ml double cream (£0.65)
  • 3 eggs (£0.75)
  • 3-4 tbsp sugar (£0.05)
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (£0.06)
  • 50 g milk chocolate chips (£0.45)
  • a tsp of vanilla extract
  • pinch of cinnamon

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 160 °C
  • Grease the baking dish with butter. Chop the bread into cubes and place in the baking dish. Set aside.
  • In a small pot, combine the milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and melted butter. Whisk until combined. Place the pot onto a medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes. Set aside.
  • To the baking dish, cover the bread in chocolate chips. Next, pour over the vanilla custard. Place in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
    Let it cool for 10-12 minutes
  • Serve with more chocolate chips, whipped cream or a scoop of ice cream.
