How to store Sweet and Spicy Chicken

This Sweet and Spicy Chicken can last in the fridge for up to 3-4 days, so storing it in an airtight container is important. I like to take a further step and wrap the chicken in foil.

How to make Sweet and Spicy Chicken

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 200°C
  2. In a jug/medium-sized bowl. Add 3-4 tbsp melted butter, 1-2 tbsp oil/ghee, 2 tbsp honey, 1 1/2 tbsp brown sugar, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp all-purpose, 1 tsp paprika, and 1 tsp crushed red flakes. Stir well.
  3. Place the chicken onto a lined baking tray. Season the chicken with salt and pepper to taste. Pour over the marinade and using a brush or your hands ensure the chicken is fully coated.
  4. Bake in the oven for 30-40 minutes or until fully cooked.
  5. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve!

Do I have to use this recipe with chicken drums only?

No! I love using this recipe with a whole chicken and chicken thighs when more family and friends gather. If you’re planning on making more than 1kg of chicken I recommend that you use double the amount of the marinade!

What to serve with sweet and spicy chicken?

This Sweet and Spicy Chicken tastes amazing with my one-pot vegetable rice or served with steamed veggies.
