CREAMY GOCHUJANG ORZO

Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups Orzo (£0.67p)
  • 1½-2 tbsp Gochujang Paste (£0.25p)
  • 2 Small Onions (£0.12p/2)= (£0.24p
  • 2 Grated Garlic Cloves (£0.13p)
  • 1 tsp Grated Ginger (£0.05p)
  • 3 Cups Chicken/Vegetable Stock
  • Slab of butter/drizzle of oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Pinch of Chili Flakes optional
  • Coriander optional

Instructions

  • Dice the onions into cubes and grate the ginger and garlic.
  • In a medium heated pan, throw in the butter and allow it to melt before throwing in the onions
    Cook the onions until translucent before adding the garlic and ginger.
  • Once the onions have slightly darkened pour in the orzo and toast for a few minutes. At this point season the orzo with chili flakes, salt and pepper.
  • Once toasted add the gochujang paste and stock. Stir to mix the gochujang into orzo. Keep stirting gently to prevent the orzo from sticking to the pan. Cook until the orzo is cooked through.
  • Top the orzo with corriander and serve
